On April 21, 2026, during the opening day of the PP-RAI 2026 conference, Prof. Marco Dorigo was awarded the title of Honorary Fellow of the Faculty of Computer Science at AGH University of Krakow.

This distinction is granted by the Faculty of Computer Science of AGH University of Krakow to individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the advancement of science and technology, as well as to the development of collaboration with the Faculty.

Prof. Dorigo is a world-renowned researcher in the fields of swarm intelligence and robotics. He received his PhD in 1992 from Politecnico di Milano. He currently serves as Director of Research at FNRS and co-leads the IRIDIA laboratory at Université Libre de Bruxelles.

His research interests include swarm intelligence, swarm robotics, and optimization algorithms. He is a Fellow of AAAI, EurAI, and IEEE, and a recipient of numerous prestigious awards, including the IEEE Frank Rosenblatt Award and a European Research Council Advanced Grant.
