Honorary Fellow Title

The title of Honorary Fellow of the Faculty of Computer Science at AGH is a prestigious distinction awarded by the Faculty of Computer Science of the AGH University of Science and Technology. It serves to honor individuals particularly distinguished for their contributions to the development of science, technology, and collaboration with the Faculty.

The title is awarded to:

  • outstanding scientists,
  • creators of modern technical solutions,
  • individuals actively cooperating with the Faculty of Computer Science or associated with its research activities.


The Honorary Fellow distinction highlights the importance of international cooperation and recognizes the contributions of exceptional individuals to the advancement of computer science and the ongoing activities of the Faculty.

To date, the distinction has been awarded to the following individuals:

Prof. Marco Dorigo, Université Libre de Bruxelles

Bio

Marco Dorigo is a leading researcher in swarm intelligence and robotics, who earned his Ph.D. in electronic engineering from Politecnico di Milano in 1992. He is a Research Director at FNRS and co-director of the IRIDIA AI lab at Université Libre de Bruxelles. His work focuses on swarm intelligence, swarm robotics, and optimization algorithms. He is a Fellow of AAAI, EurAI, and IEEE, and has received major international awards including the IEEE Frank Rosenblatt Award and a European Research Council Advanced Grant.
